Watercolor Shapes Moon Birthday Card

The Watercolour Shapes Stamp Set can be used for so many different things.

Watercolor Shapes Moon Birthday Card. A card on a Misty Moonlight base. The top layer has a bight full moon on the left with a yellowy white halo. The color gets darker and darker until the edge where is is deep blue like the night sky. There are small white stars and the Happy Birthday is White embossed at the bottom right hand side.

It is my oldest sons 35th Birthday today and I created this card for him. Watercolor Shapes Moon Birthday Card. As a male of course he doesn’t like fuss so I have kept it simple. But I really wanted to let him know that I love him to the Moon and back.

Using the Stamparatus I inked the circle up with Gray Granite and stamped. Then with the Smokey Slate Stampin’ Write I added a few dots to the stamp and stamped again.
At this stage I could have masked the circle but I wanted to have the halo effect. Blending over and around the moon with Daffodil Delight gave me that effect.

A closer look at moon and the layers of colour

Using Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight and Blackberry Bliss I built the colours up. Starting with Misty moonlight I laid down the base colour then added Night of Navy getting lighter towards the moon. To get the edges even darker I added some Blackberry Bliss. The Stampin’ Chalk Marker was great for creating the stars. To finish I White embossed Happy Birthday from the Art Gallery Stamp Set.
