This technique was used to create these subtle cards using the Merriest Tree Dies.
Sometimes you want to create a more muted colour, a colour that has different shades or even a mix of colours to use for a die cut or background. So I would love to share with you How To Create Your Own Coloured Cardstock.
It really is quite easy and if you are like me and love using the Blending Brushes then you will certainly add this to your list of favourites. For a softer shade of the colour (for me it was Pretty in Pink), just lightly blend on the colour in a circular even motion.
Always tap of extra colour when you ink up the brush to prevent splotches. To create different depths of colour just continue adding colour to a few areas until happy.
Of course with this technique you can also add multiple colours, for example to create a sunset, or if it is what you need for your die cuts.
Pretty in Pink or any Pink shade will often be my go to for Christmas cards and for this one I have used the Merriest Tree Dies. Used strips of Paper and ripped them to give the illusion of snow. Plus a little Wink of Stella!
My second example is created using Lost lagoon, another gorgeous colour perfect for this technique. Decorations on a tree are are must of course and the Merriest Dies have the perfect option and I have paired them with the 2024-2026 In Colour Glimmer Specialty Paper! Gorgeous!!
I hope you give this technique a try and there is a video below that will show you step by step.
