In The Pines with Colour Swiping was a recent Team Challenge. The Challenge was to use one colour to create different shades, I chose Shaded Spruce. To create the different shades was very easy. By using the Ink Pad of the same Colour simply swipe the card stock to create darker colours of the same shade. Perfect.
Mini Catalogue.
Today we have launched our Mini Catalogue August – December 2020. This is full of amazing holiday ideas for projects and gifts. It is never to early to start getting ready for Christmas right!
In the Pines is a beautiful 14 piece Photopolymer Stamp set. There is also co-ordinating Pine Wood dies to create the perfect project. I am not traditional usually when creating for Christmas but I loved the shaded Spruce for this card.
The colour palette is very simple only using the two colours but with this technique it is has depth.
In The Pines with Colour Swiping was so much fun. Creating with only 2 colours was a challenge but made easy with the swipe technique. I also added some texture I used the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders. This really finished off the card.

Hi Kathy so lovely to hear from you.
Colour swiping is where you us the ink pad to swipe across the card stock to create a different depth in colour.
For this card we were asked in the challenge to only use one card stock colour and one ink of the same colour. I used Shaded spruce. I ran the shaded Spruce ink pad over my Card stock to give the same shade but slightly darker. This was then used as a mat. It really is great as you know your colours will co-ordinate you are just creating different shades of the same colour.
I hope this answers your question ok.
Happy crafting
