Highlighting the Floating Technique

This card is featuring the Simply Elegant Suite and the floating technique. It has a Basic Gray card base with black matting. The top layer is Basic gray dsp with small black dotted diamonds through out. On the top is a floating circle made up of strips of the DSP with copper flowers and silver leaves. Wishing you a wonderful birthday is silver embossed on a black piece of card stock. This has been punched out into a scroll tag. Behind this is some circled silver thread.
Simply Elegant Masculine Birthday Card


This gorgeous masculine card is one of the cards that I am teaching in this months classes. The Designer Series Papers in this Suite are stunning. They are highlighted with Copper, Silver and Gold on one side. The reverse side is still beautiful but do not have these highlights. I wanted The DSP to be the feature of this Simply Elegant Masculine Birthday Card.

The floating Technique is very easy to achieve. I have cut out a 2 1/4 inch circle from a Window Sheet. The DSP is cut into 1 cm strips and adhered to the circle. The edges around the circle are then trimmed. This really makes the highlighted DSP pop on your card front and a stunning feature.

The inside of the Simply Elegant card this top layer is in Very Vanilla and in the bottom left hand corner is stamped a stunning scroll.

The Card base is Basic Gray with Basic Black matting. For the inside I have used Very Vanilla which combines beautifully. I have used my favourite stamp on the inside, the amazing scroll. It really is amazing!! Such gorgeous detail.
