Have you ever sat down to create and felt completely stuck? I’ve been there — and that’s exactly why I love using cardmaking sketches from the Stampin’ Up! catalogues. They are one of the easiest ways to spark creativity and get crafting with confidence.
Why Cardmaking Sketches Work Every Time
Each catalogue includes a page of ready-made templates for cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. These sketches give you:
- A balanced layout that already works
- A stress-free starting point
- Freedom to adapt shapes and elements to suit your style

When you start with a sketch, the hardest decision is simply choosing your papers! In the Mini Catalogue page 17 we have a selection of sketch/templates ideas for you and for this card I choose the one I have circled.

Create Beautiful Handmade Cards — Quickly
By pairing a sketch with the Greenery Lane Washi Tape, textured cardstock, and a few finishing touches like Linen Thread or subtle embellishments, you can create a polished handmade card in minutes.
Sketches remove the overwhelm and help you focus on what matters most — enjoying the creative process.
Ready to Try a Sketch Yourself?
If you’re feeling stuck or short on time, I encourage you to flip through your catalogue and start with a sketch. They’re thoughtfully designed, incredibly inspiring, and perfect for crafters at any level.

Turn Washi Tape into Stunning Card Designs
One of my current favourites is the Greenery Lane Washi Tape with coordinating dies. Applied to white cardstock, it instantly becomes patterned paper you can die-cut into leaves and florals.
This makes it perfect for:
- Quick backgrounds
- Elegant greenery accents
- Layering behind sentiments
It’s simple, versatile, and ideal when you want maximum impact with minimal effort.
