Whimsy and Wonder Christmas Trees

The Whimsy and Wonder Suite is so very versatile with so many looks that can be achieved.
For this card I have created a Snowy night theme under a full moon. It doesn’t snow here at Christmas in New Zealand but there is still something magical about snow and Christmas. This creates a very Whimsy and Wonder Christmas Tree theme.

The bacKground though looks difficult is simple. Of course it is one of my favourite techniques blending. I have used Shimmery White cardstock for that special look. From the Penguin Place stamp set and Balmy Blue I have stamped the hilltop. This then guides me as to where to blend the colours and add the trees.

Gold and Blues pair so beautifully together and creates such a fresh look.

Leaving the hill top at this stage I start with Misty Moonlight and do a light cover over the card stock. Pacific Point is next gently blending over the Misty moonlight. Choose an area that you would like to keep lighter as a focal point and just cover that slightly.
Finally coming in with Night of Navy working in from the edges each time, keep going until the outside area is as dark as you would like.
Lightly cover the hill with Balmy Blue. Create a mask to cover the hill and using Smokey Slate and Memento stamp some trees. On top of these then White emboss some more trees at different levels. These 3 colours together give a 3D illusion of a forest.

Next using the brush from the Wink of Stella and the lid flick on to the darker area of the card before removing mask.

The large tree is Die cut in the Snowy White Velvet sheets with the top layer from the Shimmery Gold Vellum. Also using the Shimmery Gold Vellum cut out a circle and scrunch it up before adhering.

The greeting is also from Penguin Place and white embossed on Night of Navy.

Inside of the card the same tree from the outside is stamped off 3x, to give that 3 D look. You could add further words here if you desired.
